May News

Picture
This year marks the 75th Anniversary of Ducks Unlimited Canada. To help them celebrate, $5 from the sale of each stone in my new Wetland Series will be donated to something near and dear to my heart, the Wallace Bay Wildlife Area restoration project. Designs will include wildlife that calls this valuable wetland area its home.

Mother's Day is Coming!

Can't think of a gift for the mother that has everything? Why not try a garden, welcome or address stone to adorn your mother's garden, cottage or driveway? Browse the gallery or contact me with an idea of your own. Can't think of something to give? Why not try a gift certificate? Available in any amount, certificates can be honored between May and the end of October.

New Blog Section & YouTube video installments

I have now added a blog  where I will be discussing various aspects of stone. The blog will be a mixture of short pieces about ongoing projects and longer stories. These will be broken up into smaller chunks. The goal is to have a video or blog post every. This may not happen in the busy season nut I will try. The posts won't always be shop talk but it will always be about stone or monuments.

Keith's Bio

Keith is a native of Wallace, Nova Scotia. An area known for its historic sandstone. First teaching himself how to carve wood. He went on to learn about the art of bone carving from the Maori while travelling in New Zealand. Keith continues to hone his skills with wood, bone & stone.

Keith received formal training in drafting from the College of Geographic Sciences in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, and obtained further training in engraving while working in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Since returning home Keith has picked up the tradition of making sandstone monuments from his uncle, whose family has worked with sandstone for generations.

A fine eye for detail and an insistence upon quality are benchmarks of Keith's work. Examples of his work have been found in print and on television including Saltscapes Magazine and CBC's The Week The Women Went. Keith would be happy to discuss ideas with you to ensure that your monument, sign or special stone exceeds your expectations!
